As we bask in the joys of the summer season, we can't help but feel immense pride and gratitude for having these young golfers as part of the "Golf: My Future, My Game" summer session. With only three sessions left before we bid farewell to this enriching journey on August tenth, we wanted to share an update on the incredible progress your young golfers have made so far. Throughout the summer, we have witnessed remarkable growth and development in our budding golfers. Their passion and dedication have been truly inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments.
In our latest Thursday's session, we put a strong emphasis on essential values that go beyond golfing skills. Through the acronym "SSHIP," which stands for Sportsmanship, Safety, Honesty, Integrity, and Positive Attitude, we strive to mold not only skilled golfers but also well-rounded individuals. To encourage continuous improvement and goal-setting, we support your children in coming up with weekly accomplishments for the week's session. The positive impact of this exercise has been apparent, empowering them to set and achieve their targets while nurturing a sense of responsibility and commitment. During the previous session, the kids had a blast honing their skills at the driving range, gaining confidence in their swings, and further honing their techniques. Beyond the golfing aspect, we also delved into the inspiring history of the sport by highlighting two influential figures: Dr. George Franklin Grant, the inventor of the wooden tee, and Renee Powell, the second woman to enter the LPGA. Learning about these trailblazers instilled a sense of heritage and inspiration within our young golfers. Moreover, Josh, our experienced golf instructor, shared valuable insights on the significance of perseverance, both on and off the golf course. As part of their homework, we encouraged the kids to research and name all four major tournaments in men's golf. This exercise not only enhances their knowledge of the sport but also fosters an appreciation for the prestige and history surrounding these events. As we approach the conclusion of the program, we are excited to celebrate the progress and achievements of each child. We firmly believe that their experiences here go beyond golfing skills, equipping them with valuable life lessons that will serve them well in the future.
